AN ART COLLECTION THAT INSPIRES

KM_16 and KM_159

become KM_32

With the Kunsthaus Meerbusch KM_32, we have created a new "home" for the KM collection in recent months. The two Düsseldorf locations, KM_16 and KM_159, have now been brought together under one roof with this relocation. This creates more space for art, encounters, and exchange.

OPENING

Following the opening of the Kunsthaus Meerbusch KM_32 in April 2026, the exhibition

“The KM Collection”  will present key works from the collection in a new curation over the following months, as well as works being shown for the first time.

Visits by appointment only!

ART NEEDS SPACE

This space is not an end in itself; rather, it serves as the foundation for communication with interested viewers. Only then can art truly touch people, bring them together, and spark new thoughts and impulses through engagement with a work.

Guided by this intention, we, the private collectors Volker M. Kroll and Ralf-D. Müller, have created the Kunsthaus Meerbusch KM_32, a central art space for our contemporary art collection, which we have amassed over the past 25 years. At its heart is a permanent exhibition of the KM Collection, featuring selected works curated on a rotating basis.

In parallel, the format of rotating solo exhibitions will continue. Artists already represented in the collection will be given priority at KM_32, where they will again have the opportunity to present their work in a solo exhibition.

Furthermore, we aim to foster dialogue with art enthusiasts, encouraging broadened awareness, self-reflection, and exchange among them.

EXHIBITION

Opening Exhibition

With the exhibition

„THE KM COLLECTION“

the Kunsthaus Meerbusch KM_32 will open on April 24, 2026, in a private ceremony for invited guests.

From April 28, 2026, until approximately mid-September 2026, the exhibition can be visited by appointment.

At KM_32 in Meerbusch, the two previous Düsseldorf locations, KM_16 and KM_159, have been brought together under one roof.

Uniting a collection housed in two locations presents a significant physical challenge, accompanied by considerable conceptual and emotional implications.

Join us to experience how, on the one hand, familiar works change their power and impact on viewers in their new environment and curatorial context, and on the other hand, discover works from the collection being shown for the first time.

PREVIOUS EXHIBITION

In the meantime, you have the opportunity to view solo exhibitions by artists from past

years at KM_159.
